Do you ever wish you had a list of the top farmhouse decorations? This way if you ever have a problem spot you could easily pick a few items off of that list and voila, you have a stylish solution. Although that’s not exactly how it works, I do think it’s extremely beneficial to have a list of your go-to items that are versatile enough to work in almost any room in your home. That way you can always have something to refer back to when you feel stuck.
2023 Farmhouse Decorations List
Does that sound like something you would want? If so, then you may want to stop what you are doing and finish reading this! I will post the most current list of farmhouse decorations that can majorly impact any space in your home. This is a carefully curated list with only the best of the best farmhouse decorations.
Of course, there may be other pieces of decor that could work as well, but these are my favorite items that every designer or homeowner should always have in their arsenal. I should also note that these are listed in no particular order as I found it far too difficult to try to rank them.
#1 – Vases
If you don’t already know about my love for vases, you will now! In my opinion, vases are the most classic and timeless decoration. Not only can they exist in any style and any room, but they also present versatility with the plethora of ways your can style them. You can stage them by themselves, add greenery stems or flowers, or arrange them with other vases, and that’s only to name a few ways.
To stay up with the times, I do recommend a concrete-style vase. Ones with a more raw or organic feel can be a little bit pricey, but they are certainly worth the investment.
#2 – Books
Books have been used in interior design for as long as I can remember. They’re timeless pieces and sometimes even have a practical purpose. Today, most people use them purely for decorative purposes, but some people do keep them on shelves purely for reading purposes. If you’re looking for some inspiration, here are a few of my favorite ways to style them:
- Lined in groups on shelves
- Stacked under a bowl or other decorative object
- As a base for a smaller decoration on top
- Arranged on a coffee table in several stacks or splayed open
#3 – Bowls
Books lead me to my next favorite farmhouse decoration: decorative bowls. Decorative bowls can be the perfect accent to place on top of a stack of books on your coffee table or styled with fresh fruit or greens. Whether it’s an antique gold bowl or a more rustic wooden one, the right decorative bowl can fit any style or color palette.
To stay on trend, I recommend a more organic bowl that follows along with the same concrete style I suggested for your vase. If that doesn’t fit your aesthetic, a metal or wooden bowl will work too. The bottom line is that you should just pick the material that best fits your design.
#4 – Candlesticks
Candlestick styles have evolved tremendously over time in modern farmhouse design. From thick, clunky, and overly distressed candlesticks (which, I must admit I still love) to dainty brass candlesticks, my love for them has only grown. Nowadays there are so many unique styles and designs, it’s easy to fit them into any aesthetic.
If you are looking for something timeless, I would opt for a slender candlestick with a metal antique finish but I also think candlesticks are the perfect opportunity to get a little funky. You can find relatively inexpensive options that can provide a unique feature in your space that everyone will be sure to see.
#5 – Wicker Baskets
Wicker has been extremely trendy over the last few years, but that shouldn’t discredit the longstanding history of wicker baskets in farmhouse design. I actually inherited quite a few of my favorite baskets after my grandma passed away. She was a huge fan of interior design and had a similar love for wicker baskets.
I love how they can be used in any space to add a more earthy element and work in almost every room. They are also extremely affordable and can be found practically anywhere.
